ลักษณะการทำลาย (Infestation)

ตัวอ่อนและตัวเต็มวัยทำความเสียหายให้มะม่วงมากที่สุด คือในระยะที่มะม่วงกำลังออกดอกดูดน้ำเลี้ยงจากช่อดอกทำให้แห้งและดอกร่วง ผลติดน้อยหรือไม่ติดผลเลย ใบอ่อนทีถูกดูดกินน้ำเลี้ยงใบจะบิดงอโค้งลงด้านใต้ใบตามขอบใบจะมอาการปลายใบแห้ง ถ่ายมูลมีลักษณะเป็นน้ำเหนียวๆคล้ายน้ำหวานติดตามใบช่อดอกและรอบๆทรงพุ่มทำให้ราดำปกคลุม ส่วนของพืชที่ถูกทำลาย: ใบ,ช่อดอก,ก้านดอก,ยอดอ่อน

วิธีการควบคุม (Control measure)

ในระยะที่ดอกมะม่วงกำลังบานการพ่นน้ำเปล่าในตอนเช้าจะช่วยให้การติดมะม่วงดีขึ้น ตัดแต่งกิ่งภายหลังเก็บผลผลิตเป็นวิธีที่การกระทำอย่างยิ่งเพราะจะช่วยลดที่หลบซ่อนของเพลี้ยจักจั่นลง
