แผลที่ใบพบมากในระยะแตกกอ จุดกลมหรือรูปไข่ สีน้ำตาล ขอบนอกสุดมีสีเหลือง บางครั้งพบรอยเปื้อนคล้ายสนิมเกิดกระจายทั่วใบ แผลสามารถเกิดบนเมล็ดข้าวเปลือกได้ ทำให้เมล็ดข้าวเปลือกด่างดำ ส่วนของพืชที่ถูกทำลาย: ดอก, ใบ, เมล็ด, ลำต้น

-ใส่ปุ๋ยโปแตสเซียมคลอไรด์ อัตรา 5-10 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ เพื่อลดความรุนแรงของโรค
-กำจัดวัชพืชในนาข้าว ถ้าพบอาการรุนแรงของโรค ให้พ่นสารป้องกันกำจัดเชื้อรา
