มีรายงานเป็นครั้งแรกในประเทศไทย พบในตัวอย่างผักหวานที่เก็บจากพื้นที่การเกษตรทั่วไปในจังหวัดนครปฐม เมื่อปี 2552 (ตัวอย่าง SP1-B)และปี 2553 (ตัวอย่าง SPTH2-SPTH8) ยังไม่มีรายงานพบเชื้อ SaYV ในประเทศอื่น
