เนื่องจากศัตรูพืชชนิดนี้เป็นศัตรูพืชกักกัน ซึ่งเป็นศัตรูพืชที่ไม่ควรพบอยู่ในประเทศไทยหรือถ้าพบก็ต้องอยู่ในการควบคุมหรือมีการเฝ้าระวังได้ ดังนั้น หากมีการนำเข้าผลผลิตหรือผลิตภัณฑ์พืชที่มีโอกาสเป็นพืชอาศัยของศัตรูพืชชนิดนี้ หน่วยงานที่รับผิดชอบต้องใช้มาตรการสุขอนามัยพืช (Phytosanitary measures) เช่น
-วิเคราะห์ความเสี่ยงศัตรูพืช เพื่อออกกฎระเบียบการนำเข้าหัวพันธุ์จากประเทศที่มีเชื้อนี้
-สุ่มตรวจสอบหัวพันธุ์ นำเข้าทุก shipment ที่มีการนำเข้า และให้รมยากำจัด
-พิจารณาการผลิตในแหล่งผลิตของประเทศที่จะส่งออกหัวพันธุ์ที่มีโอกาสเป็นที่อาศัยของศัตรูพืชชนิดนี้มายังประเทศไทย เช่น การใช้หัวพันธุ์ปลอดโรค / พันธุ์ต้านทาน / การ treat หัวพันธุ์ก่อนปลูก / การทำความสะอาดแปลง / การปฏิบัติการเขตกรรมที่เหมาะสม
