ลักษณะการทำลาย (Infestation)

เป็นศัตรูสำคัญของปาล์มน้ำมันระยะให้ผลผลิต และช่อดอกปาล์มน้ำมันกัดแทะกินเนื้อผล และเนื้อในของเมล็ดปาล์มน้ำมัน กินทำลายช่อดอกปาล์มน้ำมัน เพื่อกินด้วงงวงผสมเกสร และยังกัดแทะเพื่อลับฟันทะลายปาล์มน้ำมัน หรือฝักข้าวโพด หรือผลสับปะรดที่ปลูกภายในสวนปาล์มน้ำมัน
